Minions - the rise of gru

The Minions are some of the most recognisable characters out there. With multiple movie releases, countless collabs and merch… releasing another film in a world that’s already taken over by minions posed a problem: how do we let people know about the release of Minions -The Rise of Gru in a way that feels fresh and new.

So we decided to infiltrate the TVNZ network with Minions. Working with Steve Carell himself, the minions showed up everywhere from the news, to promos and channel menus. Whatever people were watching on TVNZ channels, Minions somehow interrupted the broadcast to tell viewers about the new movie.

And it paid off. Minions -The Rise of Gru over delivered on targets for at the New Zealand box office.
