Social Stream - a connected TV product

The media landscape is ever-evolving, and more brands were shifting their budgets towards social platforms, drawn by precise audience targeting and low-touch production.

But we found a a way to bring those aspects into connected TV and created Social Stream for TVNZ+.

This first-of-it’s-kind connected TV format turned social content into a TVC, placing posts within a branded frame that included calls to action and brand-messaging. In addition to that, we used TVNZ+ targeting power, to deliver these ads to specific audiences, just like social platforms. Combining the precision of social media targeting with the impact of TV advertising.

Social Stream grew from a proactive idea into a TV format that’s here to stay, in just 2.5 years, we’ve created hundreds of ads and the format has now been replicated across major TV broadcasters in New Zealand.
