Pizza hut x love island

Pizza Hut needed a new way to stay culturally relevant with younger audiences and become part of significant pop culture moments.

Reality TV -in particular shows like Love Island. Aren’t just watched, they’re part of fans’ day-to-day, beyond the show. From feeds to group chats, the quotes and memes are endless.

So, instead of just placing ads around the show, we integrated Pizza Hut into the world of Love Island. Making it a seamless extension of the show and tying it all back to pizza.

We partnered with the iconic narrator, Iain Stirling to create topical, contextual TVCs and reactive social content that tied into the iconic lingo and world of the show.

Since the start of this campaign, Pizza Hut has become synonymous with Love Island in New Zealand. They also sold out of heart-shaped pizzas every time the show aired, which were only advertised on Love Island.

I led this campaign for 3 seasons. Concepted, wrote, and art directed all Pizza Hut content in relation to Love Island.

When viewers paused their show, we showed up again.

We extended the campaign to TVNZ+ social channels, grabbing moments from the show and tying it all back to Pizza Hut as well.
